How to Make Delicious Homemade Granola in 5 Easy Steps

Are you tired of store-bought granola that's loaded with sugar and preservatives? Why not make your own delicious and healthy granola at home? Here's a simple recipe that you can customize to your liking.


  • 4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup nuts and/or seeds of your choice (almonds, cashews, pumpkin seeds, etc.)
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup melted coconut oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Optional add-ins: dried fruit, chocolate chips, cinnamon, etc.


  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, nuts/seeds, and salt. Mix well.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey/maple syrup, melted coconut oil/vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  4. Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until everything is evenly coated.

  5. Spread the mixture out onto the baking sheet and bake for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and crispy. Allow to cool completely before adding any optional add-ins.
